Why I wanted this Cosori 7-in-1 Multi-Functional Pressure Cooker
Fast cooking, tender and flavorful food. I’m getting pretty tired of making dinner every night and I’m usually to0 sore to stand in the kitchen for hours cooking. I watched a pressure cooker infomercial on TV and I thought, “Wow, what have I been missing all theses years? Cooking could be easy and fast with one of these cookers.” I was hooked.
So what’s so great about this pressure cooker?
It is REALLY A NICE Cooker! I have used this several times now and I’m learning all the different things it can make. I am amazed at the flavor pressure cooking give to the food and FAST – wow unbelievable. Everything taste so good. There are 7 cook setting and a manual setting. I have used both so far but not all 7 of the auto cooking settings.
This is really simple to use for any food you want to make. You can even sear a roast or chops in it first, then add in everything you want with it and set for the time or auto cook. Come back later and it’s done, tender and tasty too. I’m still learning about when I want the steam to escape and when I don’t. I’m really getting the hang of it and my ham and bean soup was to die for gooood!
I have always been, well rather afraid of pressure cookers. I was always told when I was a kid that they can blow up pretty easy, so I just always stayed away from them. Not any more, Cosori has turned on a whole new world of cooking for me. And it’s so incredibly easy.
The pictures I am showing below are of a roast I made with whole potatoes, onions and I took a bunch of the juice out at the end and made gravy. Yummy good. I wonder if I could have made the gravy in the pressure cooker too? Something else I will have to try, next time. Sorry I forgot to take of picture of the finished product. It looked and smelled so good, we just dove right into eating.
So anyway, what you get here is one heck of a fine multi-function pressure cooker. It comes with the pressure sealing lid and a very nice glass lid and even an extra sealing ring. I put that away for later (years later) as a spare. That’s pretty cool of them, right? Also, a plastic measuring cup, plastic water catcher, and 2 plastic utensils, instruction book and a recipe book. The cooker is 6 qt. capacity and is a whopping 1000 watts.
As far as the recipe book goes, I wish it could have had recipes that I would actually use. Most of it is exotic stuff, well exotic for me anyway. I am able to get some good ideas from it though and improvise and there is always the internet.
Now back to the roast. I browned it in the pressure cooker first, then added water with bouillon, onion and potatoes. Man, those potatoes cook fast. I had to take them out and hold over while I cooked the meat longer. Now I know to add them later. This was a pretty good sized roast, so it did take longer to cook to fork tender. Shortly before the meat was done I just added back the taters to get them hot again. Sorry I didn’t take pictures of the finished product, it was really good though.
Let’s see, what else did I make? Chicken and rice, that turned out real good. I may take the chicken out and put under the broiler for a bit next time. Honey-pie only like his skin crispy. Me, I’m game for anything. Pork chops and taters turned out great. I’m going to be trying some potato soup one of these days.
If anyone has a good method for bread pudding, I have my daughter’s wonderful recipe I would love to make it in this. I think it would work great for that. So please comment if you know how. Thanks.
There are a lot of different settings for different types of cooking. I have used the manual and program 1 and 2 so far. I’m quite anxious to try more.
How well I liked or disliked the cooker?
